The updated Formation menu is coming along slowly but surely.

The yellow outline identifies the Leader of the Squad- the Leader gets a boost to all stats as of now, though I'd like to include a Leadership mechanic at some point.

Something that has always been part of the game but not really shown is the characters' grown rates, or "Rank".  Rank determines how fast or slow their stats will grow.  On the back end, characters gain XP and will "spend" it to increase their stats after battles.

I've tried a few ways to handle/display characters' preferred Range, and this is a new one.  I'm still working out the mechanics, but I wanted there to be more than just "Short" and "Long" range characters.  Now, they have scores for Close, Medium, and Far ranges.

Characters who fight hand-to-hand may be great at Close range, but much less effective at Medium-Far.  Comstock and Tai both use long weapons, so they are still effective at Medium range.  Cinder prefers to be at Far, but can still fight well at Close and Medium ranges.  Azure Dream prefers Medium range, but can fit any role.

Here, I clicked on Comstock and can now make him the Leader, Swap his position, or Remove him from the Squad.  I'm still working on adding Units to a Squad, but making progress bit by bit.

Meet Serper

Serper is the chief military investigator of the 27th Legion.  He is even tempered, quick-witted, quick-footed, and a well known lover of paperwork (so long as it is done right).  He doesn't suffer fools lightly, and is fiercely loyal to his country and to his comrades.

His boomerangs strike with incredible accuracy, and when he pulls out his shamshir "Irosa", his enemies won't be getting up any time soon.
